Pelatihan Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Berbasis Multisensory untuk Pembelajaran Vocabulary bagi Anak yang Memiliki Hambatan Pendengaran dan Hambatan Intelektual

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterbatasan pemahaman guru mengenai penerapan pembelajaran yang adaptif bagi anak dengan hambatan pendengaran dan hambatan intelektual di SMA PGRI Pekanbaru. Hasil identifikasi awal menunjukkan ketercapaian pembelajaran vocabulary sebesar 40%, partisipasi aktif anak berkebutuhan khusus sekitar 25%, dan rata-rata hasil tes vocabulary sebesar 45 dari 100. Kegiatan bertujuan memperkuat pemahaman guru mengenai Universal Design for Learning (UDL) berbasis multisensory dalam pembelajaran vocabulary. Kegiatan melibatkan 10 guru Bahasa Inggris dan dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, diskusi, simulasi, dan latihan penerapan prinsip UDL berbasis multisensory dalam pembelajaran vocabulary. Evaluasi menggunakan 15 pernyataan skala 1–5 yang mencakup pemahaman karakteristik anak, prinsip UDL, strategi multisensory, adaptasi materi, asesmen, dan kesiapan penerapan. Rata-rata skor pemahaman meningkat dari 45,47% pada pre-test menjadi 94,80% pada post-test, atau bertambah 49,33 poin persentase. Peningkatan terjadi pada seluruh indikator. Hasil ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru setelah mengikuti pelatihan mengenai UDL berbasis multisensory, yang menjadi dasar bagi penerapan pembelajaran vocabulary yang lebih fleksibel dan aksesibel bagi anak dengan hambatan pendengaran dan hambatan intelektual.
